We’ve got a loaded NBA slate over the next couple of days, including second-round matchups from all four series. Here’s one of the best bets for Game 2 of the Minnesota and Denver series.

The NBA AI Model predicts the Timberwolves will only lose to the Nuggets, 106-101. With the Timberwolves sitting at +5.5, the value at the top betting sites is on Minnesota to cover the spread.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets

Monday, May 06, 2024 – 10:00 PM ET at Ball Arena

Minnesota’s A True Contender

If you didn’t believe it after the first series against the Suns, you should believe it now. The Minnesota Timberwolves are true contenders. They just walked into Denver and added a crucial win against the Nuggets in Game 1, holding Denver to 107.7 points per 100 possessions.

The Lakers only did that once in five games against the Nuggets in the first round.

The Nuggets Don’t Have Great Analytics

Meanwhile, Denver hasn’t played great defense at all in the playoffs. Opponents have added at least 108.7 points per 100 possessions in every game.

The Nuggets will limit the Timberwolves on the glass and won’t give up many foul shots. However, the effective field goal percentage has been way too high against the Nuggets in the playoffs.

NBA Computer Pick

The AI Model and I both don’t care that the Nuggets are home. I’m on the Timberwolves at +5.5 in this Game 2 matchup.
