It’s finally upon us and it’s official, it’s the last game of the 2024 NHL season as the Stanley Cup finals have gone to game seven for the 18th time in 85 years.

Home teams have dominated game seven with a 12-5 record, but it must be noted that the previous three winners of game number sevens all came from the team playing on the road.

We are expecting a very tight game of hockey to be played tonight, so strap in and check out what our final NHL picks are of the 2024 Stanley Cup finals, with odds from the top sportsbooks.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Florida Panthers

Monday, June 24, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at Amerant Bank Arena

Stats & Betting Trends

  • The team that scores first is 149-48 in the 197 all-time Game 7s in the Stanley Cup, including a 12-5 record in the 17 all-time Game 7s in the Stanley Cup final.
  • 7 of 17 all-time Stanley Cup finals have featured a one-goal winning margin.

Can Florida Turn The Tide at Home?

Having won the previous three games in a row (pretty convincingly), the Edmonton Oilers come into this game seven with all the momentum. The Oilers have become the 17th team in history to force a game seven in the Stanley Cup finals having trailed 3-0 in the series.

The Panthers dominated the first three games, but they made the faithful error of letting the Oilers win just once, because that one victory has turned into three and now there’s no turning back. The 2024 Stanley Cup champions will be crowned tonight.

Home Advantage?

Edmonton has all the momentum heading into game number seven but the one positive the Panthers have up their sleeve is the fact they are on home ice.

Don’t get us wrong, the previous three game 7s in the finals were won by the road team, but we wouldn’t give the Panthers as much of a chance at winning if they had been on the road compared to at home.

This is going to be a tight game with no quarter given, we would side with the Panthers just because they are the home team, but have struggled to win lately. Our best value bet here is for the game to go to overtime at +310 NHL betting odds.

Not once have we seen overtime in these finals, which is strange. So how fitting would it be for this game to do so? And with it being game seven we like the chances of it doing so and love the current odds. We believe this is betable down to +280 NHL betting odds.

NHL Pick: Overtime (+310) at Bet365

Stats & Betting Trends

  • Matthew Tkachuk has scored 6 goals throughout this season’s playoffs.
  • Tkachuk has only scored 5 goals in 29 losses compared to 21 goals in 51 wins, in other words, the Panthers are more likely to win when Tkachuk finds the back of the net.

Matthew Tkachuk to Step Up

We are not saying Matthew Tkachuk hasn’t already done enough for his team. He is currently the joint-highest points scorer for the Panthers with 22 points in 23 post-season games.

He has however gone cold in recent games, scoring just three points in the opening six games of the finals, and only managed to score in 2 of the first 6 games. Last season throughout the playoffs he came up with some big goals in big moments and we believe he can do something similar in this Game seven tonight.

Tkachuk might not be the Panthers’ most prolific goalscorer and is seen more as a playmaker but nonetheless, we like his odds at +210 to get on the scoreboard tonight.

We would bet this number down to as low as +180 for Tkcahuk to find the back of the crease and help his team to their first Stanley Cup championship.

NHL Pick: Matthew Tkachuk Anytime Goalscorer (+210) at Bet365
