With 15 games on today’s MLB slate, we asked the AI Model for some best bets. It came through with a few bets that we definitely can’t pass up. Here’s one of the three best bets you’ll want to consider for today’s slate.

Our AI Model suggests the Angels and Rangers will combine to score 9.5 runs in today’s matchup. However, top betting sites are currently holding an 8.5 total. With a one-run cushion with the AI Model, the Over looks to be the play.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers

Sunday, May 19, 2024 – 02:35 PM ET at Glove Life Field

Will Jose Soriano Stay Hot?

The Angels will throw Jose Soriano for today’s game against the Rangers. While he has a 1-4 record, he’s still got a 3.72 ERA. That’s because he’s got a high ground ball rate and a low fly ball rate. Yet, he’s still giving up free passes at a high rate, allowing 11% of walks.

It just takes a couple of walks and one mistake to fall apart if you’re Soriano. That’s ultimately what has happened to him this year.

Righties Destroy Michael Lorenzen

On the other hand, the Rangers will throw Michael Lorenzen. He’s already faced 79 righties as a right-handed pitcher but has allowed a .300 ISO and wOBA of .432 with only 12.7% of strikeouts against righties.

The Angels figure to have at least four righties in the lineup. Those four righties have combined to hit a .185 ISO and wOBA of .322, which is above average this season.

Lorenzen has more potential to have a poor outing. But it only takes a couple of mistakes from Soriano for him to blow up. Let’s take the Over.

MLB Computer Pick: Over 8.5 (-110) at Bet365
